Composite Fencing vs Traditional Fencing

Composite Fencing vs Traditional Fencing

At Timco Wood we are very proud of our FSC® certified composite fencing. Made from 60% eucalyptus wood and 40% recycled plastic it is a safe, sturdy, long lasting and inexpensive alternative to traditional fencing.

Composite fencing consists of all the benefits of fencing and none of the disadvantages of wooden fencing such as:

No Splinters

If you have kids, one worry about garden fences is climbing over them and getting injured. Our fencing is sturdier than traditional thin panel fences and best of all, no splinters!

Eco Friendly

The composite fencing process is an environmentally friendly method which uses 100% FSC® certified wood and recycled high density polythene plastics. What this means is that plastic which would ordinarily sent to landfill sites is recycled to make our composite fencing. There is no compromise on quality either as our eco-friendly materials are tough, durable, low-maintenance and attractive. Our fencing is available in both redwood and teak matching traditional wood fencing colours that will give you green peace of mind in the garden for years to come.

Won't rot or weather

One of the major issues with traditional fencing is that it is susceptible to ageing, rotting and splitting. This just does not happen with composite fencing as an anti-fungal treatment is used in the production of our composite meaning that it is built to last and stay durable over the years.

Long lasting

Traditional fencing will last but will age quickly, within a few years traditional wooden fencing tends to show signs of wear and tear and aging. This is particularly apt for the UK where regular wet weather can cause damage to wood left outside. This can be remedied by using sealing treatments and regular maintenance but is time consuming and can be costly. Our composite fencing has a 25 year warranty so you can relax in the knowledge that your composite fencing has been made to last and enjoy.

If you already have traditional fencing it is an easy process to re-board with our composite fencing using your existing foundations, posts, gravel boards etc. Our composite fencing is designed to fit into standard fencing fittings or you can use our composite posts to create a new fence system.

We are pleased to announce a new innovation in our fence panel system. Following on from customer feedback, market research and engineering discussions we now employ a high pressure printing system that allows each panel to take on a wood grain effect. You can see the improvement in texture and character that our fence panels now have. Redwood is available for the moment with Teak to follow shortly.
